I recently read somewhere that all the anti-bacterial stuff most of use around the house can lead to health concerns like allergies.  Scientists aren't sure, but they think we're being too clean.  Anyone else hear of this or have more info?

I actually heard of this too. Its a little scary to me that the things that they are putting in our everyday products to help us from getting sick are actually doing more harm.  I just recently took out all my cleaners and got rid of them. I actually just switched out all my cleaning products for my cleaning company as well.  I am gong to a more natural product. I am very concerned with the type of chemicals we use and how it effects our home and enviroment. Since I have done this I have noticed that my migrains and allergies have gotten better. Tammy

Hi, I heard this too and I'm switching everything. I came across a book on amazon which I just recently purchased. It should be arriving Monday. Its called "Green Up Your Clean Up". I'm quite excited about it as the author mentions she has had some experience with allergies with her child and came across some great ways to help him. I think my kids suffer from alot of this cleaning stuff as well as hidden surrounding stuff. I have switched my laundry detergent to an item called Charlies Soap. You can purchase it directly from them or at several health food stores. The company will send you out free samples to try before you purchase it. No fabric softener needed. I think the powder over the liquid is better and lasts alot longer. You only use a small amount. Looking forward to anything you find out on this topic to help and I will do the same if I come across anything. Living in southern florida with weather, mold, etc, is alot to get use too. Alot different then living up north. Good luck.

Ya I agree, living in florida can be rough on someone. I have tried a few all natural products from the health food stores. they all seem to work pretty well, my only issue was they were so costly and with money getting so tight. I was having trouble affording it. I ended up switching to Melaleuca products. Its was a great choice. There Laundry soap is awsome and you need very little of it, only 1 once to do a load. They did a test with TIde and thier laundry soap. They took two jars filled them with water and each had a laundry soap and one piexce of cloth. After one month you could see all the fillers they put in the tide and the cloth was falling apart. The tide was eating the cloth. Then they showed us the same thing but the jars had been sealed for almost 20 years, The cloth in the tide jar was gone just little clouds of stuff in the jar along with the fillers. The jar with the Melaleuca and the cloth were still like new. Totally impressed me. I was really suprise on the price for it too.  There products are highly concentrated, You need very little. I love there cleaning products too. Heres something I just learned about the company too, I get paid on what I buy, I do not have to promote it to anyone, just be my own customer. I like that. Well let me know what you have discovered. If you are looking for something from the health food store for cleaning try the ecover products. They are really good. A little ex[ensive but good. Talk soon. Tammy

 Hi Tammy,

Thanks for tip. Will look into Melaleuca.  Which products do you suggest?  I use Ecover also; their stain remover is great as well as booster powder for whites.  That even takes out ice tea stains.   I have just purchased a sponge/cloth like item called "Twist".   Its a cross between paper towel and a sponge. I will let you know how they work this week as I'm getting that book I mentioned tomorrow and wanted to start with twist item because I wanted to use healthlier cleaning products with it, not the harsh ones. Even though I could probably rinse them out, I wanted to start Green Clean.

I had installed into my house attached to my air conditioner  Clean Air Effects by Trane.  It helped alot with dust and mold and breathing quality is alot better.    Im now trying to find better bath items for me and the family.  I heard glycerin soaps are good.  Thanks for info; keep in touch. Jo

Your very welcome. If you decide to try any of the Melaleuca products, please talk to me first, or you may be paying more then you need to be. The ones That I recommend ( honestly all the ones I have tried are wonderful) There laundry soap has just blown me away. I literally use 1 ounce of it and it does a huge load and cleans better then any product I have yet to use. THere tub n tile and tough n tender product is really great as well. The tub n tile is very mild but yet is super on hard water and soap scum. Great product and the tough n tender is an all purpose cleaner. This has a very lite scent and is very good. All these products are not harmful to our enviroment nor our homes. Well thsoe aare my picks for today. Well I hope all have a great day Tammy

Hi,

Been busy on my end, remodeling bathroom.  Thanks for tips.  Will contact you and find out which items are best to get.

Received that book in mail.  Its fantastic.  Now I really enjoy cleaning.  Real easy to do.  We have bulk pick up this week coming up so I'm going through the house and throwing away.  Makes things alot easier.

How did you hear about Melaleuca?    Are they in local stores like Whole Foods, etc?

Have to run and help paint.  Will sign on tomorrow.  Thanks again for everything.  Talk to you tomorrow.

Jo

Oh yuck, remodeling not fun. But you will like it when its over and done. Painting too? I hope in bathroom. I think I have always enjoyed cleaning. I must I do it for a living. Its nice when you can find something that is really good and works well and can make your lives easier.

I actually spent about the last year researching differant companies of all kinds from Green works, to seventh generation, even Shaklee. My sister who is amazing and can really find deals and the easy way to do things actually found Melaleuca through her church. No, you can not get it in the stores you can get it online and through a catalog. I have found there products to be highly concetrated and actually go further then they even say it does. I can send you a catalog or walk you through the site. I will be honest with ya, There products are not that expensive even as a customer but you can actually get them a little cheaper just paying for a biz kit they have which is $29.00 a one time cost. then that allows you to buy at a prefered customer cost. it can save you anywhere from 20 to 40 % off the price. Worth it if you ask me. anyways when you do the $29.00 you can even get money back on your purchases. My sisters friend from church has a mom that has buying melaleuca for her self for the last year and at the end of last year she got a statment from Melaleuca stating that she made $4,000 that year just buying products for her self. I love the products and they are cheap and the fact that they will give me money to buy something I am going to buy anyways jsut tops it for me. I do not have to push this on anyone else or sell this product. I can just use it. I like that too. But I do not mind sharing it either with others, its really a good thing to share. Well gotta go to concert will be back saturday. Tam.
