Okay, sorry to get greedy with the advice-seeking, but you all were so helpful about haircuts...

I'm getting a serious case of beach-longing. Any recommendations for a good nearby beach for the family?

Chesapeake Beach is a fairly short drive (1 hour or so) and they have a sandy "beach area" that you have to pay to go in. There is a pier too (another fee) and they do have a boardwalk like walkway. It is a little town so it's not that busy and they have a wonderful ice cream shop on the corner and some little shops in the town. We went there on a day that was hot as blazes and didn't stay that long, just walked around, got some icecream and then back in the car. http://chesapeake-beach.md.us/

That is about all I know about nearby beaches so I am anxious to hear more!
