What age did you transition your kids from a crib into a bed and what all did you do? My twin boys are 2 1/2 and are just starting to try to climb out. My fear is if I make their cribs into toddler beds that they will not stay in them and will not get the same amount of sleep. I don't want them to roam the house in the middle of the night and me know it. I was thinking of putting a kiddie gate in their doorways so if they did get up they couldn't get out of their rooms.

What all did you do?

Thank for your help.

get the crib tent II.  I kept my boy in the crib until he was almost 3.  I knew where he was, he couldn't climb out because of the crib tent and that gave me a HUGE peace of mind, so that I could relax.  A relaxed mommy is crucial.

My daughter is 2 years and 8 months and she's just about to give up her crib.  But she's been potty trained forever and I'm tired of getting up with her.  She can go to the bathroom on her own, so it's time.

Hope that helps.

i know you posted this a while ago but i figured i'd let you know what we're doing. my son could actually climb out of his crib now and he's 14 months old. we have a convertible crib and just turned it into a toddler bed. he really hated sleeping in the crib though, and he'd eat the wood!!! so i said forget this!! so we changed it and he actually likes it!! and so do we. we just had to really really baby proof his room so no matter what he can't get into anything, like the dresser!!
