We had great luck with our seat for our daughter...

But I ca already see that my son is going to make a mess if we don't switch! (different plumbing, if you know what I mean...)

Any suggestions?

=),

I am having the same problem. Right now we have the larger sized baby bjorn potty and he ALWAYS sprays all over the floor if i don't remind him to push it down.

I have boys also and I have a seat that has a piece that goes on the front to deflect the pee but honestly they do not like it because they can not get off the potty themselves because their plumbing gets caught on it. If your son does not mind you putting him on and off the potty it would be great.

We use the attached seat on the regular toilet and it works great! Plus they can learn to stand.

I have asked several moms with boys as I am going through the potty training right now and I was advised that none of the seats really work for boys and peeing.  I was told to either try sitting him backwards on the toilet or have him stand up if he is tall enough.  He will need to hold his pee-pee down or it will go everywhere.  Good luck!

I second the facing them toward the tank of the toilet on the regular seat. It feels more secure for them (or this has been my experience with my two boys).

After they get the hang of this a small stool is handy, but teaching them to sit on the regular toilet seat is a great thing for them to be comfortable with for the times that you need to use a public restroom.....which in potty training will be often unless you never leave your house.

The potty seat that we have is intended for boys and girls.

The seat flips over to accommodate the "different plumbing".

My son is almost three so he stands sometimes to pee and still sits at others, like when he has to poop. When he first started potty training we would wad up some toilet paper and he would hold it in front of his pee pee. Now when he sits on the toilet seat he can hold his pepe down but he often still, puts toilet paper in front of it.

I think whatever works is what is best for your child.

I have two boys and we really like our Baby Bjorn potty seat that fits on top of the adult toilet.

I have my boys sit down on the potty until about Kindergarten age. Make sure they are pointing it down! If you are really brave and let them stand try throwing cheerios in the toilet and have them aim for them!
