I'm in my mid 30s and am seeing my dream of a large family slip away!  How many kids is "ideal" to you?! I feel like the two I have are a handful!

I have one and it feels overwhelming at times!  You should not let go of your dreams if you still want a large family, but when we are young we idealize many things thinking they will be wonderful and easily obtainable, when in reality they are hard and sometimes unrealistic.  If you have help with the kids and lots of family support and your husband is on board- go for it!  But if you feel that two is all that you can take right now- then ENJOY your family the way it is!

I have a boy and a girl (so clever, I know) and I was on the fence about having a third.  Still am.

Many people regret not having bigger families, but you really have to trust your gut on this.  Ambivilence is not a good thing when trying to conceive.

I'm in my early 30's and I only have 1 but I feel pretty overwhelmed sometimes.  We had originally wanted 2, but are enjoying being able to give DD all our attention.  We both work, so trying to fit 2 kids into just a few hours each day, the economy, a small house, paying for day care...it's making us feel like maybe 1 is just fine by us.  Maybe when your 2 are older you can look into fostering - there are plenty of kids who could use families.
