"the word-of-mouth survival guide for SAN FRANCISCO parents"
Hello. I am a mother of a 21 month old daughter. Since she turned one, she has ran a high fever every month around the same time of the month. Not only does she run a fever, but she throws up, acts like her arms and legs hurt her, and gets very lerthargic. She has been in and out of the hospitals, and all the doctors could tell us was it was a virus. We moved and took her to a new pedatrician. We gave him a list of all her symptoms and a list of every time she was sick. The episodes are coming every 25-30 days. He said it looks like periodic fever sydrome or PFAPA. We have an appoitment with an infectious disease specialist and with rhumatology. He said they will run tests and determine exactly what it is. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of thing before? We really could use some advice or just prayers? Thanks.
