Hello. I am a mother of a 21 month old daughter. Since she turned one, she has ran a high fever every month around the same time of the month. Not only does she run a fever, but she throws up, acts like her arms and legs hurt her, and gets very lerthargic. She has been in and out of the hospitals, and all the doctors could tell us was it was a virus. We moved and took her to a new pedatrician. We gave him a list of all her symptoms and a list of every time she was sick. The episodes are coming every 25-30 days. He said it looks like periodic fever sydrome or PFAPA. We have an appoitment with an infectious disease specialist and with rhumatology. He said they will run tests and determine exactly what it is. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of thing before? We really could use some advice or just prayers? Thanks.

Praying for you, super mommy...

I can't even imagine how scary this must be.

Please keep us posted...

Hugs,Carrie

BTW, do you have a support system where you live? Family or some mommy friends?  What city are you in? I'm in Los Angeles...

Hi Carrie,

We live in Spring HIll, TN. It is 30 minutes south of Nashville. We just moved here from Memphis. We have a wonderful support system of family and friends. The only thing is they all live in Arkansas, Mississippi, or Memphis. I do not yet know any one here or any mommy friends. Hopefully that will change. Thank you for your prayers and answering back. Having someone to talk to online helps. Thanks.

OK so my baby went through the same exact thing. She went to the ID Doc and he said it was a bone marow diasease(sp) where her bone marrow stopped producing blood cells then her body went into attach mode and casued the fever and all of that. By time I would take her to the emergency room her bone marrow had started producing the cells and they could not find anything wrong with her. So she under went 6 weeks of blood test twice a week. By the time that we got the results she had out grown it. But it can come back in later years. I'm praying for you! for 10 mths I went through that every 21 days! Melody
