Topic: No frills massage?

Can anyone recommend a place/person that offers an inexpensive, yet effective massage?  I used to see someone in Japantown, but she moved away.  I would love to hear if anyone else has a regular person they can recommend.

At the Yoga Tree on stanyan, Gillian is great. $70 per hour. She was great when I was pregnant.

Some places I know of for no-frills low cost massage are Osento (on Valencia St in the mission) a womens-only spa that offers massage for a sliding scale fee, and Yoga Tree (also on Valencia St in the mission) where I recently got a 90 minute massage for $95. The woman who gave me the massage at Yoga Tree gave me her business card and said she'll do in-home 90 min massages for $105. Her name is Juliann. I can't find her card right now but you can get her info at Yoga Tree.

Hi!  Before kids I used to go to the Diamond Wellness Center on Lombard.  They have a variety of levels of mesuses (sp?) and are really cheap and really good!

Here is the link...

Hi,

The Women's Health Resource Center at CPMC is great.  They have 30 min massages for $40 and 60 min for $65.  They're all very well-trained and are especially good if you have any sort of health issue or are pregnant.  They saved me my last month of pregnancy!  It's open to any woman, you don't have to have your dr there or anything, and the best part is they are not allowed to take tips because it's a medical setting.  It's not very spa-like, but it's nice and clean and the people are nice.  Best deal I have found in the city.
