Everytime my son has strawberries, he gets a rash around his mouth.  He is fine with blueberries. Anyone have this problem.  It is a bummer because strawberrries are such a nice summer snack.

Mine did too, but grew out of it after they were a couple years old.  maybe you could mix them in a smoothie...its somthing about the contact with the face and the acidity.  Does he have the same problem with tomatoes?

Doesn't seem to have the same problem with tomatoes.  I will try the smoothies but he does have the same rash with the Nutrigrain strawberry bars.  Good to know he might outgrow it.

 Thanks.

Strawberries have citrus acid in them that can cause rashes around the mouth and diaper area.  My daughter had the diaper rash with citrus, but she's slowly outgrowing it.  It's not an allergy (we asked the pediatrician), just a sensitivity.

My daughter has the same problem and she can't drink smoothies without the same rash appearing.
