Hi There,

Just wanted to get some feedback on what age I should bring my toddler to see a dentist. She is 28 months old and hasn't seen one yet.

Also, can anyone make any recommendations on a great pediatric dentist in the Valley. Has anyone heard of Dr. Gerald Kirshbaum in Encino?

My daughter will be 4 in August; we've been to the dentist twice, once when she almost knocked out a tooth and for her first "official" checkup. We've gone to Dr. Jill Lasky in Tarzana and had a great experience. They are a pediatric dental practice. The thing that really stuck with me was that the staff actually spoke to my DAUGHTER, not just to me; they really made her feel important and confident, and I loved that. I also liked it that Dr. Lasky didn't stress out that my daughter still used her "aboo", pacifier-she said "It's easier to fix their teeth than their heads, just leave it alone". yeah, man =)

I've heard everything from one year to 3 years for the first check up-I just went went my pediatrician told me (around 2- 2 1/2), but we also didn't have any risk factors (I *** fed a long time, she doesn't sleep with bottles, no throat/ear infections, etc etc)

So you like that dentist, Dr. Lasky?

Never heard of Dr. Kirshbaum, but haven't done any research as yet.

I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old who need to go - I don't want them to go to just any dentist - I know how much I hated the dentist, so I'd like to get a good dentist, yes, but one who they don't necessarily have to be afraid of!
