I need to choose a new pediatrician, and the two I have to choose from, one is very smart, but not great bedside manner and the other I'm not as confident about ability but has a much better personality to deal with and never is in a rush.  ??

We love our pediatrician, Dr Marcy Welsh, at Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo.  Great bedside manner, takes her time with her patients, never makes us feel foolish about our questions, and our DD likes her.  We've seen a couple other dr.'s in that practice as well, and they're all very nice.

We love our pediatrician, Matilda Remba. She's part of Scripps Clinic San Diego and they just moved their office to a nice place in Mission Valley off of Friar's road. The number is 619-245-2365.

I would try to find another choice - you should not have to compromise for your baby's doctor. He/She should have great bedside manner, should make your feel comfortable, confident and give you at least 20 minutes of undivided attention to your child, thats no including any prognosis or treatment that might be needed in addition to the appointment. If your two choices don't deliver - don't settle. This is your children's well being, and if you have the choice - make it the very best one. Now - if it is a question of insurance groups... go with your gut on it. If you feel the doctor is "hearing you" and your concerns. Making your child the priority the moment he/she steps into the exam room, and makes educated prognosis, then thats your choice. Bedside manners sometimes is not every doctors speciality - but they are great examiners and at diagnosing. Again - go with your gut if you can't have it all in a doctor... go with what is more important with you. I wish you all the luck, babies are great... going to the doctor is not. Having a great doctor makes it just a little easier to deal with.
