I am due in a month with child #2 and really want to explain to my 2 year that she is going to have a brother and get her more excited.  What books or videos do you recommend that will help her comprehend this?  Right now she doesn't have much interest in being a big sister

Take her with you to the doctor to see an ultrasound in office or hear the heartbeat.  There is a great book called Hello Baby, can't remember the author.  Also, we had a baby doll around to explain how things will be.  But nothing will prepare her really for the shock of her life! Haha!

I tried everything I could find with my son and he was totally not interested.  He was good with his sister when she arrived, though would often look at her and patiently wait.  When she did not offer fruit snacks or juice he would simply run off and find a toy.  She is now almost 3 months old and he has progressed to offering kisses, pushing her in her wing and offering her the pacifier if she is upset.  Its really super cut to see his growth, and surprisingly enough there is very little jealously.  I combat this issue by spending some good one-on-one time with him when the baby is sleeping.

 Hope this helps ;)
