I have heard a lot about organic food, the benefits, ect, but honestly am a bit skeptical of all the hype.  I do buy organic milk because of all of the hormones, but havent quite made the switch in other areas, partly because of the prices.  Am I making a mistake?

I think its a lot of hype too.  I don't there is harm in changing over, but I dont think there are any super adverse effects on us from eating the way we have. The one thing I do is only buy cage free grain fed eggs but thats more because I saw a truck with crates of poor chickens than for health reasons.  If I could afford it I would probably buy my produce organic because in my experience it tastes better.

Google organic milk and eggs the benifits and information make it a clear choice to by organic.  My daughter loves strawberries if the organic and chemically treated ones are same or close to the same price I go for organic.  If there are no organic strawberries well than I still buy the stawberries.  Still not 100% organic but, I'm glad to have choices.  Even if the FDA wants GMO in foods and hormones I don't.

I think the most important benefit to going organic is the environmental/economical factor.  Although it is a little more expensive, you're supporting your local economy.  Also, buying organic is the first step to improving our environment. With all of the reports and studies released over the past several years, we all know that somethings gotta give soon!

For those of you that are interested in organics, there's a great place in Plano at Park/Preston called Veria Wellness Center.  It's a spa/yoga studio with retail in the front.  They have everything from organic cotton sheets to makeup, shampoo and soy candles. They also have tons of herbs and supplements, detoxs, even baby clothes.  They have a wide range of yoga classes that are reasonably priced and use all natural products for spa services. If you go before the end of May, they will give you a month of free yoga and 25% off of any product or service in the store.  They have only been open 6 months, so it's still really easy to get an appointment and the classes are small.

Go check it out!! Veria.com

I have switched my milk and meats to oganic. I try to buy organic fruits and veggies when I can afford it. I mostly spend more on green cleaners to use in my home. I think it is scary to expose my family to high powered chemicals.

If you want to know about what I use or some of the research I have found feel free to contact me.
